KNIGHTS of COLUMBUS COUNCIL 10274      

The KOC is an international organization of catholic men 18 years of age or older.  The Knights’ mission is to make their parish and community a better place by supporting parish activities and enhancing their own faith.  Here at St. Benedict Council 10274 we strongly believe in supporting our parish and community projects.  The Council meets on the third Sunday of each month at 8:00 am in the parish hall.



NEW HORIZONS OF WOMEN AND MEN  

On June 25, 2005, under the leadership of our then spiritual director, Father Desmond C. Ohankwere, MSP and influence of St. Frances Xavier parent chapter of Baltimore, Maryland, we, the New Horizons of Women began our journey of sisterhood. We were later privileged to have some of the men of the church join our group.

The purpose of the organization is to:
  • Enhance the spiritual experiences of women and men through the exercise and application of spiritual teachings;
  • develop fellowships
  • develop service programs
  • develop our local communities
  • develop educational programs 
  • develop prosperity through economic development activities
We worship together as a group at the 9:00 a.m. mass on the fourth Sunday of each month followed by our meeting in the Parish Hall immediately after mass.

COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC WOMEN (CCW)  
   
St. Benedict the Moor Council of Catholic Women is a unique group of women who put their words into action. The motto is “SERVICE TO FELLOWMEN”.  The CCW was organized in the spring of 1981 which was made up of several other women organization within the parish. St. Benedict’s CCW is an affiliate of The Savannah Deanery CCW and The Savannah Diocesan CCW.  Meetings are held the third Sunday after the 9:00am mass in the parish hall.

LEGION OF MARY    

The Legion of Mary members offer their service to the pastor to aid him in performing spiritual works in the parish.  Members become instruments of the Holy Spirit through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works include evangelization, parishioner visitation, visitation of the sick or aged.  Meetings are held every Wednesday at 12:30 pm at St. Benedict Education bldg.

ASSOCIATE MISSIONARIES OF ST. PAUL  (AMSP)

Associate Missionaries of St. Paul (AMSP) assist and support the Missionary Society of St. Paul (MSP) in all of its endeavors spiritually, through prayer with and for them, morally and financially. www.mspfathers.org
